How WW2 Workshop meets the 2014 National Curriculum


　Statutory:
  • a study of an aspect or theme in British history that extends pupils’ chronological knowledge beyond 1066
Under this statutory objective, an example of what to teach is 'a significant turning point in British history, for example, the first railways or the Battle of Britain'. WW2 and the Blitz, is one of the​ most significant turning points in British history. The Battle of Britain is the example given, but you could choose from many, including evacuation, rationing, the Blitz, D-day, VE Day or VJ Day. The WW2 Workshop concentrates on life during the Blitz, but covers all of these other key events during the day. If you require the workshop to cover a certain aspect in more detail, I am happy to adapt the workshop to suit your children's needs.

Statutory: 
  • challenges for Britain, Europe and the wider world 1901 to the present day. In addition to studying the Holocaust, this could include:
    • the Second World War and the wartime leadership of Winston Churchill
